How ZMacros adapts to you.
Every calorie calculator starts with a formula. Formulas are averages, and you aren't one. ZMacros replaces the guess with what your own logs and weigh-ins show, and it's careful about when to trust them.
1. A starting point
On day one there's no data yet, so ZMacros starts from a well-established formula using your height, weight, age, activity and goal. It's a sensible first guess, the kind any tracker gives you, and nothing more.
2. It learns from you
As you log food and weigh in, ZMacros compares what you ate with what your weight actually did over the past few weeks. From that it works out what you burn, not what an average person of your size burns.
It allows for real life. Days you only partly logged count for less, days you didn't log aren't guessed at, and entries that can't be right are set aside rather than trusted.
3. It tells you how sure it is
You see a range and a plain confidence level, not just a number. Early on it watches and learns without touching your target. As the evidence builds, it's allowed to make bigger adjustments. It never swings your target on a few days of data.
4. Your target stays honest
When you recalculate, ZMacros applies what it has learned and moves your target toward what's actually working for you. It never goes below a safe minimum, and protein stays tied to your bodyweight.
If your progress stalls for a while, it tells you so, and Progress shows when you're likely to reach your goal weight based on your real trend.
What it isn't
The estimate reads your logs. It doesn't measure your body. It's only as good as your logging and weighing, and it isn't medical advice. The more consistently you log and weigh, the sharper it gets.
