Accuracy

How is ZMacros different from a calorie calculator?

A calculator applies a formula to your height and weight. ZMacros starts there, then learns your real burn from your own logs and weigh-ins. How adapting works.

Does my target change on its own?

No. When there's enough data, tap Recalculate and ZMacros applies what it has learned. It only moves your target as far as your data supports.

Do I need to log every day?

No, but the more complete days you log, the sooner the estimate settles. Days with nothing logged are left out rather than guessed.

How often should I weigh myself?

Most days gives the sharpest estimate. Daily swings don't matter; the trend is what's used.

Does it use my steps and workouts?

They're shown on your Today screen, and you can add calories on workout days. They aren't used to estimate your burn, because your weight already reflects them and counting them again would double-count.

How accurate is photo logging?

A photo estimate is a starting point, not a lab result. Every item comes back as a gram amount you can correct before you save it.
